Lesson 1: Regulations and Requirements

Welcome to Lesson 1 of FAA Part 107 – Online by ©Fly Drone School. In this lesson we will be covering the basics of drone flight and pilot training. Starting with eligibility, after all you have to be eligible if you’re going to fly drones commercially!

We will walk you through some of the basic definitions, acronyms, and help you to understand the meaning and importance behind all of them. Drone and Pilot Operational Limits will be outlined and covered in more detail later in this course.

Most importantly, we will be talking about the responsibilities and requirements associated with the rPIC, or Remote Pilot In Command. You will learn about the FAA requirements, regulations, and guidelines, various emergency and communication procedures.

Sounds like a lot, right? Well we are not even done with lesson 1! You will also have to learn about maintenance procedures and various other information. Lastly, we will give you a brief introduction to the ©FlyTools – Commercial Drone Pilot’s Logging System. ©FlyTools is going to help you out a lot when you actually get into the field and begin flying under FAA regulations and guidelines.

While it seems like we have a lot to cover, I promise you we will have you flying in no time! Better get started!
