Typically takes 90 days (PLAN FOR 90) FAA RECOMMENDATION

After submitting an application to the FAA you will receive a notice as to weather the application was approved or denied. If the application was approved you will receive the completed FAA form 7711-1, Certificate of waiver or authorization, dated, signed, and approved by the FAA with specific provisions for the remote pilot in command. If the application is denied, you will receive a notification with an explanation as to why the request was denied.

Certificate of Waiver: Clearance to fly beyond the part 107 regulations and long term airspace authorization.

Authorization: Clearance to fly in controlled airspace and can be issued for up to 6 months. Authorizations are typically easier to get but not guaranteed.
